Enjoying in the architectural reserve "Shiroka Luka"

The architectural reserve Shiroka Luka is located in the Rhodopes, approximately 20 km from the town of Smolyan and 15 km from Pamporovo ski resort, being ideal for rural and ecological tourism. Founded during the 17th century, the village today has retained its Renaissance architecture of its authentic Rhodope houses with small windows and wooden window seats that are amphitheatrically arranged on both sides of the river.

The village is known for its rich history and preserved folklore, as well as with the National School of Folk Arts based here. Every year on the first Sunday of March in the village is organized the Mummer's Festival with monsters-mummers figures.

Among the sights that must be visited in the village of Shiroka Luka are the Ethnographic Museum "Zgurovski Konak", the "Assumption" Church, the home of Egxarch Stefan I, the chapels "St. Theodore Stratilat", "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", and "Sv. Atanas" and the natural rock formations "The Maiden" and "The Head".
