Tsankov Kamak Dam – Great Place for Fishing and Picnics

Tsankov Kamak is the largest dam in Bulgaria and a favorite tourist attraction in the Western Rhodopes. The dam is located near the village Mihalkovo and offers excellent opportunities for fishing and for a boat ride. The boat trips are lasting between one and three hours, and tourists can also rent water wheels. Both the boats and the water wheels are equipped with vests.

The volume of the dam is 111 cubic meters of water, flowing to Gashnya and Vacha rivers. The length of the dam is approximately 15 km and the water mirror reaches Devin. The shores of the dam are steep and the altitude reaches 680 meters. The area is very suitable for picnics and fishing.
